And this was December!!

December 7, 2020

As I type this, I would like to remind everyone that today is Pearl Harbor Day. Thanks to all who have, who are and who will serve our country.

Not much has been happening, as you might guess. With the latest restrictions from ‘the virus’ we are on hold for our Christmas Party. Our meeting spot, Shooters Bar & Grill, is closed at this time. A re-opening date is not yet known. I am sure everyone is disappointed, but it just cannot be helped. The monthly meeting for December appears to be canceled.

We are still planning our January and February activities. Keep tuned in to our face book page for further updates on these activities and of course, our January meeting on the 10th at Shooters in Rantoul.

Even though our Christmas Party at Swanns Special Care Center had to be canceled, we were still able to get the gifts purchased during our shopping days to the residents. We also provided gifts of toys to The Crisis Nursery, Cunningham Children’s Home, and Illini Children’s Christian Ministry (Champaign-Urbana). In Rantoul toys went to Hope Meadows and in Danville to Crosspoint Domestic Violence Services and Crosspoint Humane Services.

Also, check out our Facebook page for the coverage of our shopping by WCIA!! Thanks to them for doing so. We would also like to say a huge “THANK YOU” to Big Lots, TJ Maxx and Hobby Lobby of Champaign, Farm and Fleet of Urbana and Walmart of Rantoul for all their help with our shopping days. Lots of fun was had and certificates of appreciation were presented to each store. If you shop at any of these stores or know anyone at WCIA, be sure to thank them!!

I guess more happened this last month than I realized!!
